City BOE members recognized

Special time was reserved at a meeting of the Jasper City Board of Education on Monday evening to recognize its members.

Rita Pilling, director of accountability programs and support services for Jasper City Schools, thanked the school board members for their service in observance of School Board Member Recognition Month in January.

"We appreciate all of the dedication and time that you give," Pilling said. "They go through a lot of training and are dedicated to all of our students and all of our personnel."

Members of the board include president Willie Moore, vice president Walker Wilson, Teresa Sherer, Mary Beth Barber, and Scott Thornley.

Faculty and administrators at every school in the district helped put together a gift basket for each board member.
