NOTICE

• Matthew Ministry Outreach/Soup kitchen is held every Friday at 11 a.m. at LifeSprings Assembly of God on Highway 195.

• Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Horse Creek Blvd. in Cordova holds a Soup Kitchen every Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. 

• Boldo United Methodist Church holds a clothes closet the second Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

• Calvary Baptist Church in Fayette will host a revival at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 28.


SATURDAY, OCT. 26

• Bethel Grace Assembly of God will host a Hallelujah Night from 6 until 8 p.m. There will be games and a chili cook-off.

• The Encounter Youth Group (of Carbon Hill COGOP) will host their youth service, Ignite, starting at 6 p.m. Come out for a night of worship, fellowship, and free food.

• Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Curry will host their free Fall Festival from 5 until 8 p.m. Activities include carnival rides, trunk or treat, bouncy house, and much more. 

• Samaria Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat from 6 until 8 p.m.

• Boldo United Methodist Church is asking the community's help in restocking their emergency food pantry and cold weather items for the upcoming winter. Many families in Walker County have inadequate heat in their homes and we have a growing number of homeless that need our help. They will be open on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to receive donations of non-perishable foods, coats, jackets, socks, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, etc. They are located at 55 Gray Road, Jasper, 35504 across from the Dollar General on Hwy 69. Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give.


SUNDAY, OCT. 27

• Union Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate "Old Fashioned Day" with regular service beginning at 9:45 a.m., lunch at noon, and a singing at 1 p.m. Guest singers will be Living Faith Quartet. Everyone welcome!

• Fall Festival at Townley First Baptist Church will start at 4:00 p.m. There will be a Hay Ride, Trunk or Treat, Soup and Chili, and Hot Dogs. Everyone Welcome.

• Herman Baptist Church will host their Fall Festival at 5 p.m. Food, games, and Trunk or Treat!

• Hickory Grove Church of the Nazarene in the Black Pond community will celebrate their Centennial Homecoming starting at 11 a.m. Lunch and congregational singing will be held at 12 p.m.

• Memorial Singing at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Cordova at 1 p.m. with "Trusting Grace". Lunch at noon.

• The Carbon Hill Church of God will have its Homecoming, starting at 10:00 a.m. Guest singers will be the Bill Clark Family. Lunch will be served after the service.

• Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church will host an all day singing. Services will start at 10:30 a.m., lunch at noon, and singing in the afternoon. Guest singers will be Trusting Grace.

• Harmony Baptist Church on Hwy 195 will celebrate their Homecoming with singing and then preaching at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served, followed by singing in the afternoon. Guest singers will be the Barnett Family from Stanton, Tenn.

• Maranatha Baptist Church will host special guest singer and speaker Tonja Strickland at the 11:00 a.m. worship service. For more information, please call 205-471-0579.


OCT. 27-30

• Berry Church of God at 390 County Road 30 East will host a revival on Sunday at 5 p.m. and Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m. Bro. Jerry Trotter will be speaking.


WEDNESDAY, OCT. 30

• Living Light Church of God will host their Fall Festival starting at 6 p.m. Lots of fun and candy for the whole family.

• Living Light Church of God Fall Festival will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Trunk or Treat, games, bonfire, bouncy house, chili cook off, food, costume contest, hayride and much more. 

• Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Dora will host a Trunk or Treat starting at 6 p.m. to feature hotdogs, chili, finger foods, s'mores, and a big bonfire.


THURSDAY, OCT. 31

• Carbon Hill Church of God of Prophecy will host their Fall Festival starting at 6 p.m. Free food, prizes, and games for all ages.

• Crossway Baptist Church of Aldridge will host a Fall Festival from 6 until 8 p.m. Free food and games will be available.

• Union Chapel Community Center will host a Table or Trick from 4:30 until 8 p.m. There will be cake walks, everyone welcome.

• Maranatha Baptist Church will host a block party and Hallelujah Night starting at 6 p.m. featuring hayrides, refreshments, and more. All the hotdogs, chili, and hot chocolate you can eat and drink. For more information, please call 205-471-0579.


SATURDAY, NOV. 2

• Prospect Independent Church in Nauvoo will host the fourth annual holiday bazaar from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Lots of arts, crafts, jewelry, clothing and food. For more information contact Robin Odom at 205-471-2128.

• Winston County Gospel Music Theatre will host their 1st Saturday Night Singing starting at 6 p.m. featuring guest singers, "Inherited" from Cullman.

• The Barn in Dora will celebrate a night of Southern Gospel Music that will feature New Ground from Scottsboro, The Gospel Barn Quartet from Dora, and the popular Dixie Echoes from Pensacola, Fla. This is a free admission event but a love offering will be received. The Barn is located at 56 Parr Parkway, Dora, Ala. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and the concert gets underway at 6:00 p.m. For additional information you can call 256-218-1983.

• The singing at Beech Grove Church has been cancelled due to structural issues.


NOV. 3-6

• West Walker Church of Christ will host a Fall Gospel Meeting on Sunday at 10:20 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Monday-Wednesday at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Mark Posey.


SUNDAY, NOV. 10

• Westside Baptist Church will celebrate their 94th Annual Homecoming with Bro. Jeff Champion speaking. Lunch will be served after service. Everyone welcome.
