Local church events are featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the calendar at Events are listed by calendar date and time as space allows. New Prospect Baptist Church at 770 Alabama Hwy. 5 N. in Jasper will have its monthly Food Closet today from 8 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Townley First Baptist Church at 228 Alabama Ave. in Townley will host the Page Trio Homecoming, featuring Eagles Wings, today  at 6 p.m. Free admission. Love offering will be taken. For more information, call 205-384-3274.


Union Chapel Baptist Church invites you to their singing on Sunday, July 22, featuring Eagles Wings. Regular service will begin at 9:45 a.m., with lunch at noon and singing at 1 p.m. 

Snowtown Baptist Church will have its Homecoming Sunday, July 22, with worship service at 11 a.m., lunch following and singing at 1 p.m. featuring the Waylighters.

Arley Congregational Christian Church on Winston County Road 41 in Arley will have revival services on Sunday, July 22, at 5 p.m., with guest evangelist David Roper; Monday-Wednesday, July 23-25, at 7 p.m., each night. Guest evangelist on Monday will be Jeff Wiggins, Tuesday - Doug Raburn,  and Wednesday - Homer Jones. 

Aldridge Community Baptist Church at 60 Vinning Road in Parrish will host its VBS "Rolling River Ramapage" beginning Sunday, July 22, through Thursday, July 26, from 6 until 8:30 p.m. each night.


Mount Zion Baptist Church on Fall City Road in Jasper will host VBS "Shipwrecked" July 23-27 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. 

Mt. Philadelphia Baptist Church at 1885 Cordova-Gorgas Road in Cordova will host its V.B.S. "Game On: Gearing Up for Life's Big Game" beginning Monday, July 23, through Thursday, July 26, from 6 until 8 p.m. each night. Music, crafts, and outdoor activities.  

New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God in Jasper will host its V.B.S. beginning Monday, July 23, through Wednesday, July 25, from 6 until 8 p.m. each night. Everyone welcome.


Full Gospel Church of God at 189 Old Hwy. 78 E. in Carbon Hill will host a Camp Meeting Thursday, July 26 - Saturday, July 28, at 7 p.m. each night, with guest evangelist Ron Day.


Matthews Ministries Outreach Soup Kitchen located at Lifesprings Assembly of God Church on Alabama Highway 195 N. in Jasper will be giving away canned goods and bread each Friday at 11 p.m. 


New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God will have a 5th Sunday Night Singing on Sunday, July 29, at 6 p.m. featuring The Gospel Barn Quartet.

Phillips Chapel Church will have revival services July 30-Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. nightly, with guest evangelist will be Jamie Suggs. 


Cedar Creek Church of Christ located at 6309 Tutwiler Road in Oakman will be hosting its 10th Annual "Stimulus Package for the Soul" on Saturday, Aug. 4, in an effort to encourage young men to speak publicly and study God's word. Copeland Ferry Church of God located at 16255 Alabama Highway 269 S. in Parrish will have its clothes/household items closet open Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. until noon at the church. All items are free to the public. For more information, call Joe Ann at 205-260-8810.

Winston County Gospel Theater (formerly Looney’s Tavern) on Alabama Highway 278 near Houston will hosts a gospel singing Saturday, Aug. 4, at 6 p.m., featuring Eagle's Wings.


Salem Church of the Nazarene on County Road 83, will host a Homecoming Celebration to celebrate 102 years on Sunday, Aug. 5, with guest speaker Carroll Smith. Sunday School at 9:45 a., followed by worship and preaching. Stay for dinner on the grounds  followed by singing in the afternoon beginning at 1:15 p.m., with New Ground.  


Jasper First Church of the Nazarene and the Alabama North District invites you to the North Alabama Non-Demonational "Prayer Awakening" Conference, being held Aug. 9-11, at the Jasper First Church of the Nazarene located at 400 14th Ave. W. in Jasper. The opening session will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m., with guest speaker, Rev. Corey Jones. Friday, Aug. 10, services times will begin at 8:30 a.m., with Rev. Corey Jones; 10:15 a.m., with Dr. Rob McCorkle; 2 p.m. with Rev. Corey Jones; and 7 p.m. Dr. Rob McCorkle. Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Dora will host Biker Sunday on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the church. Prizes for Best Dressed Bike and Loudest Bike. Activities for all ages, including bands, drama teams, hamburgers, hot dogs and chips. Donations will be accepted for the United Methodist Children's Home.


Jasper Independent Church on Veterans Drive in Jasper will host an Old Time Gospel Singing Saturday, Aug. 18, beginning at 2 p.m., featuring the following guest singers, Steven Winters, and Sonny Hall, Junior Grace, Alfred Hartely, the Crump Family, Rita Hall, Sandy and Steve Sides, Jimmy Foust, Wanda and Daniel Self, Gail Jones Winters, Don Painter, Mary Jett, Frank Pair, Wayne Sears, Talamage Gravitt, Angie Woods, Hugh Shirley, Larry Lefan, and more. 


Townley First Baptist Church will have its Homecoming Sunday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m., with Daryle Wilson preaching the morning service and singing by the Awakened Quartet. Fellowship lunch following the morning services and more singing with the Awakened Quartet at 1:30 p.m.
