SATURDAY, JUNE 23

Prospect Independent Methodist Church at 3505 Prospect Road in Nauvoo will host a Beans & Greens Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, June 23, at 4 p.m. at the church. Plates will be $5 and include beans, greens, slaw, cornbread and onion. For more information, contact Robin at 205-471-2128.


Empire Church of God will host a Youth Rally on Saturday, June 23, at 6 p.m. at the church, with Drama Teams and special guest speaker, Phillip Walker. Refreshments will be served following the service. For more information, call 205-641-1806.


SUNDAY, JUNE 24

Oakman Church of Christ will host a Spring Gospel Meeting Sunday - Wednesday, June 24-27. Service times Sunday - Sunday School at 10 a.m., Worship service at 11 a.m., fellowship meal at noon, congregational singing at 1:30 p.m. and afternoon worship at 2 p.m. Guest speaker on Sunday Ronnie Hayes of Adamsville Church of Christ. Worship services Monday-Wednesday will be at 7 p.m. each night, with the following guest speakers: Monday - Mike King of Tubbs Church of Christ; Tuesday - Tommy Alford of Quintown Church of Christ; and Wednesday - Barry Elliot of West Concord Church of Christ.


Herman Baptist Church on Herman Road in Curry will host its Centennial Celebration on Sunday, June 24, beginning at 10:30 a.m., with lunch at noon.


New Prospect Baptist Church at 770 Alabama Hwy. 5 N. in Jasper will be starting an Archery Program for students ages 8-18. Registration for the program will be held Sunday, June 24, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the church's Christian Life Center. Shooting sessions will begin Tuesday, June 26, from 5-7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact David Hood at 205-275-9524.


New Canaan Baptist Church on Walston Bridge Road in Jasper will host its VBS "Ramblin Road Trip" June 24-28 from 6-8 p.m. If you need transportation,  call 205-275-0216.

MONDAY, JUNE 25

Peace Baptist Church in Parrish will host its VBS June 25-27 at 9 a.m. each day. Refreshments will be served. Rev. Thedford Hudson, pastor.


SUNDAY, JULY 1

Union Chapel United Methodist Church will change its Sunday morning worship service from 11 a.m. to 9 a.m., beginning Sunday, July 1.


Aldersgate United Methodist Church will change its Sunday morning worship service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., beginning Sunday, July 1. 


McCormack Cemetery Inc. in Dora requests that all flowers sitting on the ground at McCormack Cemetery be removed from gravesites no later than Sunday, July 1, for mowing. If flowers are not removed, the mowers will dispose of them.


WEDNESDAY, JULY 4

Sumiton Church of God is planning a Freedom Celebration "Freedom Fest 2018" on Wednesday, July 4, at 7 p.m. on the Sumiton Christian School Football Field next to the Sumiton Church of God Family Life Center. There will be food, fireworks, inflatables and more.


Prospect Independent Methodist Church at 3505 Prospect Road in Nauvoo will have revival services beginning Friday, July 6, at 6 p.m.; Saturday, July 7, at 5 p.m. dinner and 6 p.m. worship; and Sunday, July 8, at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Chad Beavers.

Blooming Grove Baptist Church at 1805 Blooming Grove Road in Jasper will host a county-wide Celebrate Recovery Meeting on Sunday, July 8, with special guest speaker, Shane Morrow.
