Local church events are featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed by calendar date and time as space allows, so guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. The deadline to place an event is no later than noon Tuesday and Friday. SATURDAY, MAY 26

Blackwater Macedonia Church of Christ on Windham Loop Road in Jasper will have a food giveaway on Saturday, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Townley Church of God on Alabama Highway 102 in Townley will host its annual Community BBQ on Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. Everyone invited. Meat will be provided, but please bring side dishes.


SUNDAY, MAY 27

Philadelphia Deliverance Tabernacle located at 22400 Alabama Highway 13 in Lynn will have a singing Sunday, May 27, at the evening service, with special guest singer Jeff Smith. 


Calvary Baptist/ Dora 2nd Baptist will hold Vacation Bible School May 27-June 1 at 6 p.m. each night at Dora 2nd Baptist for ages 3-99. 


Hunter's Chapel Holy Church of Christ will have its Homecoming services Sunday, May 27, with guest singers, New Ground from 9:30 until 11 a.m., and lunch at noon.


WEDNESDAY, MAY 30

Living Light Church of God at 3420 N. Airport Rd. in Jasper will host its monthly “Night of Passion” service the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the church.


SATURDAY, JUNE 2

Boldo Cemetery Association is requesting that all flowers be removed from grave sites no later June 2 for mowing purposes.


St. Mary's Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace W. in Jasper will host a weekly Al-Anon meeting in the Parish Hall each Saturday at 8:30 a.m. For more information, call the  Rev. Robin H. Hinkle at 205-387-7746 or email robin.hinkle@gmail.com.


Odom Memorial Baptist Church on Pleasantfield Road in Parrish will host a "Fun Day" Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. 


The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Rd. in Townley host its first Saturday singing each month at 6 p.m. For more information, contact John Cooner at 275-7823.


Winston County Gospel Music Theater host its first Saturday Night singing each month at 6 p.m. Special guests singers for June will be Millie Bonham and Assurance from Huntsville. 

SUNDAY, JUNE 3

Brasfield Cemetery in Burnwell will have homecoming and decoration day on Sunday, June 3, 2018. All faded and dead flowers must be removed by May 25.


Bevan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on Alabama Highway 18, 4 miles east of Berry, will be celebrating Homecoming Sunday, June 3, at 10:30 a.m., followed by dinner on the ground. Sixth Avenue Church of Christ invites you to a meet and greet for the church's new evangelist, David Dixon, and his family, on Sunday, June 3, from 2:30 - 4 p.m. in the Sixth Avenue Church of Christ Fellowship Hall (Ark room). Light refreshments will be served.


Peace Baptist Church in Parrish will celebrate the pastor and first lady's ninth anniversary on June 3 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Savage of 26th Street Baptist Church will direct the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Dennis Brown of West End Hills Missionary Baptist Church will direct the 3 p.m. service.


Hope House Church in Jasper will host its VBS Sunday, June 3, from 3:30-8 p.m., and Tuesday-Wednesday, June 5-6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each night. A meal will be served each night.


First Baptist Church of Frisco will celebrate its annual Men's Day on Sunday, June 3, at 5 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Avery Pruitt of New Bethel Church of God in Christ. The theme is "Men Measuring Up to Meet the Ministry Mandate."


West Walker Church of Christ will host its VBS "Noah's Ark Adventure" Sunday, June 3, at 5 p.m. and Monday–Wednesday, June 4-6, at 7 p.m. each night. Classes for all ages. 


New Prospect Baptist Church will host VBS June 3-8 from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme is "Shipwrecked: Jesus Rescues." Classes for all ages. 


Central Baptist Church at 900 Airport Road South in Jasper will have its VBS, "Investigation Destination" June 3-7 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. for ages 4 years and up.


SATURDAY, JUNE 9

Matthews Ministries Outreach and Lifesprings Church of God on Alabama Highway 195 North in Jasper have teamed up to host a BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, June 9, from 8 a.m. until all plates are gone. Singing, praise and worship, and human videos for the kids. Plates will be $7.50 each and include BBQ meat, baked beans, potato salad, dessert and BBQ bread. To pre-order plates, call 205-522-2516.


SUNDAY, JUNE 10

Jasper's First Baptist Church at 1604 4th Ave. S. in Jasper will host its 2nd Annual Community "Holy Smoke" BBQ and Cruise-In on Sunday, June 10, from 3–6 p.m. in the church parking lot. The event is free and will feature all types of vehicles, grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and Conecuh Sausage, desserts, inflatables, games, music and prizes.


Blooming Grove Baptist Church will host its VBS Kickoff on Sunday, June 10, at 4:30 p.m. at the church. VBS will be held June 10 -14 from 5:45 -8:30 p.m. each night.


TUESDAY, JUNE 12

Northside Baptist Church of Jasper's Merry Hearts Senior Group will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 12, at 10 a.m., due to Vacation Bible School. The group will return to its regular meeting schedule on the first Tuesday of each month in July.


SATURDAY, JUNE 16

Jasper Independent Methodist Church will host a gospel singing on Saturday, June 16, beginning at 2 p.m.
