Upcoming church happenings, gospel singings and cemetery cleanings/meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are listed by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14

Maranatha Baptist Church at 1701 Barker St. in Jasper will have its Soup Kitchen open each Wednesday and Friday beginning at 11 a.m. each day. The church will offer a free full-meal to those in need.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church on U.S. Highway 78 in Dora will host a New Mother’s Support Group for new and expecting mothers each Wednesday from 5:307:30 p.m. at the church. Topics will include infant feeding, sleep, play/development, returning to work and managing stress. For more information, call Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 205-648-2470.

Bethel Grace Assembly of God will host a Community Supper each Wednesday from 66:45 p.m. at the church. For more information, call Kat at 205-544-2302.

THURSDAY, FEB. 15

SATURDAY, FEB. 17

New Prospect Baptist Church on Alabama Highway 5 North in Jasper will have their food closet open Saturday, Feb. 17, from 8 a.m. until noon at the church.

River of Living Water United Methodist Church will have its “Feed My Sheep” Food Bank open Saturday, Feb. 17, from 1011:30 a.m. at the ROLWUMC Durr’s Chapel Campus in Jasper.

Berry Civic Center in Berry hosts a Southern gospel singing Saturday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. featuring special guest singers, the Vaughn Family from Berry and Busby Family from Berry. Admission is free. A love offering will be received.

Central Baptist Church at 900 Airport Rd. S. in Jasper will host the Page Trio and Barnett Family in concert on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. Free admission, love offering will be taken.

SUNDAY, FEB. 18

Hunter’s Chapel Church on Hunter’s Chapel Road in Jasper will have a singing Sunday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. with guest singer, Jason Runnels (formerly with the Down East Boys).

MONDAY, FEB. 19

Hope House Church at 1620 10th Ave. in Jasper will host its “Fishes & Loaves” Soup Kitchen each Monday at 11 a.m. and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., with a worship service following the meal.

Nauvoo United Methodist Church on Third Avenue in Nauvoo hosts AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings each Monday and Friday at 6 p.m. at the church.

Nauvoo Church of God will host NA (Narcotics Anonymous) and AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) One Step Group meetings each Monday from 67 p.m. at the church. Meals provided.

Saragossa Baptist Church Women’s Prayer Group will meet each Monday at 7 p.m. at the church.

TUESDAY, FEB. 20

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at 801 The Trace in Jasper will host a Caregivers Support Group meeting each Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the library at the church. This group is open to the community and is for people who provide care to loved ones dealing with chronic illness.

Carbon Hill United Methodist Church at 178 Northwest 4th Ave. hosts a Celebrate Recovery each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper holds a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Greater Shiloh Baptist Church at 2603 Martin Luther King Drive in Jasper will hold the installation of its new pastor, Jerry A. Seay, on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. Dr. Vernon Swift will be the guest speaker.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 28

Living Light Church of God at 3420 N. Airport Rd. in Jasper will host a “Night of Passion” service the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the church.

SATURDAY, MARCH 3

Townley Community Center in Townley will have the Kingsmen Quartet in concert on Saturday, March 3, at 6 p.m. Discount tickets can be purchased for $10 at FNB of Hamilton in Carbon Hill, Victoria’s Restaurant Gift Shop, Western Finance, and Stewart Family Pools and Christian Bookstore in Parkland Shopping Center. Tickets at the door are $12.

Sunday, March 5

Jasper First Baptist Church at will host the Walker Baptist Association’s Spring Evangelism Conference Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 6 p.m. at the church. The guest evangelist will be Dr. Robert Smith Jr., who holds the Charles T. Carter Baptist Chair of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School where he teaches Christian Preaching. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. David Miller is the Walker Baptist Association’s Director of Missions.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 45 Nichols St. in Parrish will celebrate its 9th Anniversary on Sunday, March 11, at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Terrance Gaines of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Parrish.

THURSDAY, March 15

Northside Baptist Church at 500 U.S. Highway 78 in Jasper will host a Alzheimer’s Disease Seminar on Thursday, March 15, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church. The keynote speaker will be, Miller Piggott, the executive director of Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama in Birmingham. The seminar is open to all who would like to attend. No charge for admission. However, to ensure adequate seating, organizers are requesting that you call to make reservations.
