Upcoming church happenings, gospel singings and cemetery cleanings/meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle. com. Events are listed free of charge. They are listed by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. First Christian Church at 400 West 18th St. in Jasper will have a “Pounding Day” today, July 29, where they will give away a pound of uncooked rice and a pound of uncooked beans (reclosable storage bags provided) to those who attend (one per family, please) from 8:30 a.m. until supplies are gone. Bethel Grace Assembly of God at 3581 Alabama Highway 5 in Jasper will have revival services Sunday, July 30, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Monday - Wednesday, July 31-Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. nightly.
