Upcoming church happenings, gospel singings and cemetery cleanings/meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle. com. Events are listed free of charge. They are listed by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. TODAY, JULY 22

Townley First Baptist Church at 228 Alabama Ave. in Townley will host the Page Trio Homecoming, featuring the Lovelace Family, on today, July 22, at 6 p.m. Free admission. A love offering will be taken. For more information, call 205-384-3274.

Good Hope Baptist Church, located on old Highway 78 near Sayre Speedway, will host a one-day Vacation Bible School today, July 22, from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. A parents program will begin at 3:15 p.m.

SUNDAY, JULY 23

Union Chapel Baptist Church will have its quarterly singing on Sunday, July 23, featuring guest singers Eagles’ Wings. Regular service will be at 9:45 a.m., with lunch at noon and singing at 1 p.m.

Goodsprings Full Gospel Church on Alabama Highway 269, five miles south of Parrish (across from the new Dollar General), will have its Homecoming service Sunday, July 23, at 11 a.m., with lunch around at 12:30 p.m. Guest singers will be the Bowling Family. Ben Godwin is the pastor.

26th Street Baptist Church on Delaware Ave in Jasper will host Project Unity, a time to unite communities and law enforcement, Sunday, July 23, at 2:30 p.m.

Herman Baptist Church on Herman Road in Curry will have a singing Sunday, July 23, at 5 p.m. Featured singers will be the Page Trio.

Snowtown Baptist Church at 5960 Flat Top Rd. in West Jefferson will have Homecoming and singing Sunday, July 23, beginning with church service at 11 a.m., lunch at noon and singing at 1:30 p.m. Featured singers will be the Gospel Barn Quartet. Rev. Bob Thomason is the pastor.

MONDAY, JULY 24

Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Jasper will have its Vacation Bible School Monday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 26, at 5 p.m. nightly.

Maranatha Baptist Church at 1705 Barker St. in Jasper will have its Vacation Bible School, “Galactic Starveyors,” Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 6-8 p.m. nightly for all ages ranging from nursery through to adults. Bible stories, recreation, music, crafts and snacks will be offered.

Woodland Trace Church of Christ in Jasper (located behind the Jasper Mall) will have its Vacation Bible School “Camp Out, Getting S’More of Jesus,” Monday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 26, from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly, for children 3 years to Fifth Grade. Register online at www.wtcofc.org.

SATURDAY, JULY 29

First Christian Church at 400 West 18th St. in Jasper will have a “Pounding Day” on Saturday, July 29, where they will give away a pound of uncooked rice and a pound of uncooked beans (reclosable storage bags provided) to those who attend (one per family, please) from 8:30 a.m. until supplies are gone. Bethel Grace Assembly of God at 3581 Alabama Highway 5 in Jasper will have revival services Sunday, July 30, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Monday - Wednesday, July 31-Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. nightly. Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper holds a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Independent Church of God on Blackwell Dairy Road in Jasper (behind the hospital) will host a benefit singing Saturday, Aug. 5, for Harvey James Kail, a 4-year-old who needs leg braces, shoes and help with expenses for medical visits. He is the great-grandson of Wayne and Bobbie Smith. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Singing will begin at 7 p.m. Guest singers will be Latter Rain, Langley Just One and Way Lighter. The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Rd. in Townley hosts its First Saturday Night Singing and Service the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m., featuring congregational singing, special guest singers and refreshments following the service. Boldo Methodist Church on Alabama Highway 69 North (across from the Dollar General) in Jasper will host a Free Clothes Closet Give-a-way on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until noon at the church, for people who need clothes or shoes.

Oakman Community Center willhost a Southern gospel singing the second Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. Featured guest singers for August will be the Freedom Land Quartet and the Busby Family. Admission is free. Love offering will be received.

Berry Civic Center in Berry hosts a Southern gospel singing the third Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. featuring the Busby Family and other special guest singers. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.
