Church Happenings, Gospel Singings and Cemetery Meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are ran by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. THURSDAY, APRIL 20

Zula Musgrove Cemetery in the Barney community of Cordova will no longer have year round maintenance of the cemetery after Thursday, April 20, 2017, due to the lack of donations, interest and money. All persons with loved ones buried there will be responsible for the care of their loved ones graves. For more information, call 205-686-2376.

Bethel Baptist Church at 7000 Bethel Road in Dora will host a Cottage Prayer meeting on Thursday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the church’s youth sanctuary.

FRIDAY, APRIL 21

Williams Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery is being cleaned for Decoration Day, May 6. Please remove all flowers and decorations you wish to keep from your loved ones grave by Friday, April 21. Anything left on graves after Friday, April 21, will be discarded.

SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Living Light Church of God on North Airport Road in Jasper will host its third annual car, truck, bike and tractor show on Saturday, April 22, from 8 a.m. until noon at the church. Dilworth Church of God at 3688 Hull Road in Empire will have its House of Refuge Food Bank open Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at the church.

SUNDAY, APRIL 23

Bethel Baptist Church at 7000 Bethel Road in Dora will host its Spring Revival beginning Sunday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday, April 24, through Wednesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. each night, with special guest speaker, Bro. Wade Stevens from the First Baptist Church in Mathiston, Miss. Childcare provided.

Keeton Cemetery in Nauvoo is being cleaned. All flowers must be removed by Sunday, April 23.

Union Grove Baptist Church will have homecoming Sunday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. Guest singers Gospel Barn Quartet. Dale Jacks will deliver the message. Lunch will follow.

First Baptist Church of Frisco will host its annual Church in the Streets on Sunday, April 23, at 4 p.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Carlos Moore and the Unity Grove Missionary Baptist Church family of Fayette.

Earnest Chapel Church of Christ will have Decoration Day on Sunday, April 23. Services start at 10 a.m. Lunch to follow.

MONDAY, APRIL 24

Bethel Baptist Church at 7000 Bethel Road in Dora will host a Bible Study/Lunch series, “Making the Most of Evangelistic Opportunities,” led by Bro. Wade Stevens beginning Monday, April 24, through Wednesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. each day in the church’s fellowship hall. Lunch will be provided. No child care.

THURSDAY, APRIL 27

Kelley Cemetery Maintenance Fund Inc. will hold its annual meeting Thursday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at the Eldridge Town Hall.

Jasper Aglow Community Lighthouse invites you to attend the Quarterly Outreach meeting being held Thursday, April 27, at the Holiday Inn Express, 110 Industrial Parkway, in Jasper. Coffee fellowship at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Glenda Eason, founder and lead minister of Intimacy With Him Ministries in Hartselle. Meeting is open to men, women, and youth - ages 16 and older. No charge to attend, but a love offering will be taken for Jasper Aglow Lighthouse Ministry. SUNDAY, APRIL 30

Union Chapel Baptist Church invites you to its 5th Sunday Singing on Sunday, April 30. Regular service starts at 10:45 a.m., lunch at noon and singing at 1 p.m. Guest singers will be J.J. Hadder and Awakening.

Kelly Mill Church on Winston County Road 4, off Alabama 195 South, in Double Springs will host a gospel singing on Sunday, April 30, at 5 p.m. Guest singers will be the Calvary Quartet.

New Prospect Baptist Church in Jasper will present Squire Parsons in concert Sunday, April 30, at 5 p.m. in the Christian Life Center at 770 Alabama Highway 5 North in Jasper. A love offering will be taken.

New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God on Dovertown Road in Nauvoo will have its fifth Sunday Singing on Sunday, April 30, at 6 p.m., with featured guest singers, Purpose.

MONDAY, MAY 1

Boldo Cemetery Association requests that all flowers be removed from graves at Boldo Cemetery before Monday, May 1, in preparation for mowing. Also asking anyone with family and friends buried at the cemetery to please make a donation so the Association can continue its efforts to keep the cemetery looking good. Nauvoo United Methodist Church on 3rd Avenue in Nauvoo will host AA (Alcoholic Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings each Monday and Friday at 6 p.m. at the church.

Rising Star Baptist Church in Dora will have a revival service beginning Monday, May 1, through Wednesday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. each night. Guest evangelist will be Pastor Timothy J. Woods of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Birmingham. The public is invited to be blessed through the singing, praying, and preaching of the gospel.

Saragossa Baptist Church Women’s Prayer Group will meet each Monday at 7 p.m. at the church.

TUESDAY, MAY 2

Carbon Hill Methodist Church at 178 Northwest 4th Avenue will host Celebrate Recovery each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Twelve Step Program each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper will hold a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Saint Cecilia Catholic Church at 2159 Alabama Highway 195 North in Jasper will have an indoor yard sale on Saturday, May 6, from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Some furniture, clothes, linens, dishes, toys, etc.

Wilson Cemetery on Myers Road in Nauvoo: Cemetery committee will hold annual business meeting on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. Everyone with loved ones buried at Wilson Cemetery is urged to attend. Donations for cemetery upkeep can be mailed to Don Wilson, 114 Albert Windham Rd. Nauvoo, AL 35578.

The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Road in Townley will host its first Saturday Night Singing and Service Saturday, May 6, at 5 p.m., featuring congregational singing, special guest singers and refreshments following the service. Winston County Gospel Theater (formerly Looney’s Tavern) on Alabama Highway 278 near Houston, Alabama will host a gospel singing Saturday, May 6, at 6 p.m., featuring the Alliance Quartet from Huntsville. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

Saragossa Baptist Church Mens Prayer Group meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church near Oakman will have Decoration Day on Sunday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with guest singers EverPraySing and The Heavenly Heirs. Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m.

Boldo Methodist Church on Alabama Highway 69 North (across from the Dollar General) in Jasper will have its Free Clothes Closet Give-a-way Saturday, May 13, from 8 a.m. until noon at the church. For people who need of clothes or shoes.

SATURDAY, MAY 20

Berry Civic Center in Berry will host a southern gospel singing Saturday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at the center. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

SUNDAY, MAY 21

Pleasant Hill Cemetery Committee will hold a meeting on Sunday, May 21, at 1 p.m. at the cemetery.

SATURDAY, MAY 27
