Church Happenings, Gospel Singings and Cemetery Meetings will be featured each Wednesday and Saturday in the Daily Mountain Eagle, and daily on the Community Calendar at www.mountaineagle.com. Events are listed free of charge. They are ran by calendar date and time as space allows, so there is no guarantee when or the number of days an event will run. Events are only accepted from local churches, faith-based ministries or organizations, and cemetery associations. TODAY, FEB. 25

First Christian Church of Jasper will hold its annual Red Beans and Rice fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 400 West 18th Street in Jasper. Price per plates $10. Plates of red beans and rice, bread, salad, moon pie and “throws” will be available for pickup at the church. Ticket available from any FCC member or call the church at 205-384-6302 to reserve your plates (please give your name, phone number, and of number of plates). Proceeds will be used to help fund the church’s mission work.

St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 301 Shamrock Trail in Adamsville will have its 2017 Mardi Gras Party will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, after the 4 p.m. Mass. Event hosted by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Adults Only. Hors d’ouvres/drinks served from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person. Saragossa Baptist Church Mens Prayer Group meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

Saragossa Baptist Church will host a Youth Night Sunday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. Youth from other area churches will be participating in the service.

New Zion Baptist Church on the Nauvoo-Carbon Hill Road in Nauvoo will have revival services Sunday, Feb. 26, through Wednesday, March 1, at 7 p.m. each night. The guest evangelist will be J.D. Dickerson.

MONDAY, FEB. 27

Carbon Hill Methodist Church at 178 Northwest 4th Avenue will host Celebrate Recovery every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Twelve Step Program each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Awakening Life Church on Alabama Highway 257 in Jasper will hold a CelebrateLIFE recovery and restoration accountability and support group meeting each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. THURSDAY, MARCH 2

SATURDAY, MARCH 4

The Church at Beech Grove at 347 Beech Grove Road in Townley will not have its first Saturday Night Singing and Service in March, but will resume the singing on the first Saturday in April. For more information, contact John Cooner at 275-7823.

Winston County Gospel Theater (formerly Looney’s Tavern) on Alabama Highway 278 near Houston, Alabama will host a gospel singing the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. Guest singers will be Purpose from Russellville. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

Townley Community Center at 62 Townley School Road in Townley will present the Kingsmen Quartet in concert Saturday, March 4, at 6 p.m. Advance tickets will be $10 (12 years and up) each and available at First National Bank of Carbon Hill, Victoria’s Restaurant in Jasper and Stewart Christian Bookstore in Jasper. SUNDAY, MARCH 5

Crossway Baptist Church will have revival services Sunday, March 5, through Wednesday, March 8, at 1160 Aldridge Road in Parrish. Rev. Donnie Hicks will be preaching. Philip Butler will be leading the music. Sunday morning service will start at 11 a.m. and Sunday evening service will start at 6 p.m. Monday - Wednesday evening services will start at 7 p.m. each night.

Blooming Grove Baptist Church on Blooming Grove Road in Curry will have a singing Sunday, March 5, at 6 p.m., with guest singers, Bama Blu-Grace.

SATURDAY, MARCH 11

Boldo Methodist Church on Alabama Highway 69 North (across from the Dollar General) in Jasper will have a Free Clothes Closet Give-a-way on the second Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until noon at the church. For people who need of clothes or shoes.

Dutton Hill Baptist Church will open its Food Bank and Clothes Closet Saturday, March 11, at 8 a.m. at the church.

Walker County Singing Convention will be held Saturday, March 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boldo First Baptist Church on Alabama Highway 69 North in Jasper. Guest singers will be New Ground. Will also be singing from the new books and Red Back Church Hymnal. Covered dish lunch at noon in the church fellowship hall. SATURDAY, MARCH 18

Berry Civic Center in Berry will host a southern gospel singing the third Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center. Admission is free, but a love offering will be received.

New Hope Holy Church of Christ at 3911 Rosehill Road in Nauvoo will have a Birthday Gospel Singing Sunday, March 19, at 10 a.m., with guest singers, the Lovelace Family. Everyone welcome.

SATURDAY, APRIL 22

Living Light Church of God on North Airport Road in Jasper will host its 3rd Annual Car, Truck, Bike and Tractor Show on Saturday, April 22, from 8 a.m. until noon at the church. Breakfast served at 8 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Registration will be $20 per vehicle. Bring your children out to Spring Fest for eats and fun.
