Charles Ray Hagood, 63, of Carbon Hill, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.
The family will receive friends today, May 8, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 11 a.m. until noon at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019, at noon in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens. Greg Tinker and Steve Odom will officiate.
Ray worked in law enforcement for 31 years at the Carbon Hill Police Department and Winfield Police Department, and he retired from the Walker County Sheriff's Department in 2006, working K-9 narcotics with K-9's Sonja and Kai.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Hagood of Carbon Hill; father-in-law, Bill Madison of Saragossa; K-9 officers, Sonja and Kai.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Cindy Hagood; two loving sons, Landon and Cameron of Carbon Hill; two sisters, Melissa Sykes (Charles) of Carbon Hill and Kimberly Valentine of Winfield; a host of loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; loving mother-in-law and caregiver, Tommie Madison; host of family and friends.
Our family is truly blessed to have Ray as our strength and head of our family. He will be missed.
