Cawaco Resource, Conservation & Development Council and Senate Majority Leader Greg Reed, R-Jasper, presented a check Monday to Boldo Volunteer Frie Department Monday night.
A presentation check for $5,000 grant was displayed during a photo session at the department's fire station to assist with purchasing a new replacement generator to assist the department with its service to citizens.
Sam Carrol, representing the Boldo department, said in a statement Tuesday, "We would like to thank Senator Reed for helping us get a grant from Cawaco so that we could replace our back-up generator at station 1. Cawaco was great to work with and we appreciate the funding they provided."
“I had a great visit with my friends at the Boldo Volunteer Fire Department," Reed said in a statement Tuesday. "Volunteer firefighters do heroic work in protecting communities across Walker County and the entire state. I appreciate Drayton Cosby and the Cawaco Resource Conservation & Development Council for their help in connecting the Boldo Volunteer Fire Department with this grant.”
Cawaco is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports educational and community development projects in Central Alabama. Cawaco serves Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby and Walker counties.
