Carolyn Gurganus Chadwick, 79, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019, at the Luling Nursing Home in Luling, Louisiana.

Friends and family are invited to the Flatwoods Cemetery on Saturday, May 11th at 1 p.m. for a graveside service.

Carolyn was born on July 15, 1939 to Columbus Gurganus and Leavie Mullinax Gurganus.

She was a loving mother who always cared for her children and was very loving to all who entered her presence. She had a passion for cooking and loved making different kinds of food, all from scratch. While she lived most of her adult life in Louisiana, Carolyn was born and raised in Berry, Ala., and enjoyed coming home to spend time with her sister and visiting relatives. She loved cheering on Alabama Football and the New Orleans Saints, and she enjoyed a good laugh with anyone who would joke or cut up with her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James V.K. Chadwick; brothers, Thurman Gurganus and James Gurganus; sister, Mildred Gurganus.

She is survived by her twin brother, Garolyn Gurganus, brother, Raymond Gurganus, and her beautiful sister, Fayree Smallwood.

She is the mother of four wonderful children, Warren Chadwick, Sharon Chadwick, Lynn Chadwick Hamback (David) and Michael Chadwick (Amanda). She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
