Carl Monroe Alexander, 74, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, in Athens.
Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel, with Steve Klein and Jeff May officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. until service at Spry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Justin Thomas, Evan Thomas, Garrett Horne, John Mark Ham, Tracy Miller, and Don Miller.
Mr. Alexander was born June 25, 1944 in Walker County, Alabama. He was a member of Oakland Church of Christ, and was retired from Delphi and General Motors.
He is survived by his wife, June Alexander of Athens; daughter, Teresa Thomas of Huntsville; son, Lance Alexander and his wife, Leanne, of Athens; grandchildren, Justin Thomas and his wife, Erin, Evan Thomas and his wife, Jennifer, Amy Ham and her husband, John Mark, Amber Horne and her husband, Garrett, and Alyssa Alexander; great-grandchildren, Reyna Thomas and Emmett Ham; brothers, Lowell Alexander and his wife, Carol, of Athens, Charles Alexander of Advance, N.C., and Herbert Alexander and his wife, Debbie, of Toney, AL.; sister, Mary Humphries and her husband, Jerry Wayne, of Nauvoo, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Bessie Alexander; and brother, Gilbert Alexander.
