Bowman holds one-stroke lead at Pigeon Dove

Gadsden’s Jackson Bowman fired an even par 71 to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the 48th annual Pigeon Dove Junior Championship at Musgrove Country Club on Monday.

The tournament wraps up today with tee times starting at 10 a.m.

Homewood’s Avery Stansell sits in second place after a one-over 72 on Monday.

Northport’s Bryant Raynowska is six strokes back at 77, Jasper’s Patrick Minor is fourth after an opening round 79, followed by Parrish’s Daniel Martin, who is 10 strokes back after shooting an 81 on Monday.

Martin also leads the boys 14-15 division.

Alexander City’s Trey Shockley (82), Haleyville’s Jack Lawson (82), Kimberly’s Grant Gurley (84), Dora’s Cameron McAllister (85) and both Savannah, Georgia’s Haddon Watson (87) and Vestavia’s Lane Myers (87) round out the top 10.

On the girls side, Madison’s Haley Blevins leads the way after shooting a five-over par 76.

Birmingham’s Molly Davidson is second, two strokes back and Arley’s Alley Waldrop sits four strokes back after an opening-round 80.

In the boys 13-and-under division, Townley’s Sebastian Whitten had the round of the day, shooting a two-under par 69. He is three shots ahead of Hoover’s Jacob Lee and is four shots ahead of Savannah, Georgia’s Whit Watson. Helena’s Jack Childers and Cullman’s Will Drake are five strokes back.
