Bevill State Community College (BSCC) and the University of West Alabama (UWA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will allow Bevill State students to earn their bachelor’s degrees at UWA.

The two institutions have signed a transfer agreement ensuring that students who have earned associate’s degrees at Bevill State, or BSCC students who have a 2.0 GPA and 45 transferable credit hours, can seamlessly continue their education at UWA.

According to the agreement, it also allows for pre-transfer advising at Bevill State and/or on the UWA campus with an academic advisor from UWA.

The University of West Alabama has academic scholarships available to any Bevill State Community College student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. These funds amount to $3,000-$4,000 per year, renewable for up to four consecutive semesters.

BSCC students who receive these academic scholarships will also be eligible to apply for housing scholarships to assist with and encourage on-campus residency.

“Bevill State Community College is committed to the success of all of our students.  We welcome partnerships such as the one we have created with the University of West Alabama.  It allows for a seamless transition for our academic transfer students with intentions to attend UWA and provides them with wonderful scholarship opportunities,” Dr. Kim Ennis, president of Bevill State Community College, said.
