Jasper’s Michael Crear threw a pair of touchdown passes and Dora’s Andrew Gaylor led the team in tackles in the North-South All-Star Game held on Thursday night in Montgomery.

A total of six local players took part in the game. Along with Crear and Gaylor, Jasper’s Micah Woods and Ryan Pugh along with Carbon Hill’s Jev Windham and Addison’s Hayden Ray suited up for the North team, which dropped a 22-19 decision to the South team at the Cramton Bowl.

Down 7-0 in the second quarter, Crear drew the North team even with a 3-yard touchdown run.

Crear threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Brayden Lewis at the 3:38 mark of the third quarter to give the North team a 13-7 lead. The South team scored the game-winning touchdown midway through the final quarter.

Crear rushed five times for 16 yards and a touchdown in the game, completed 2 of 3 passes for 13 yards and a score and returned two kickoffs for 28 yards.

Gaylor had eight total tackles in the game and a pass breakup. Woods was second on the team with five tackles, two tackles for a loss, a sack and blocked a punt.

Jasper head coach Bryan Moore also served as an assistant on the North team.
