Wilma Jacqueline “Jackie” Gober, 86, of Jasper, passed away on Feb. 1, 2013, at Lakewood Senior Living. She was a lifelong resident of Walker County. She graduated from Carbon Hill High School. She was a member of First Baptist of Jasper and longtime office manager for the Daily Mountain Eagle.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. Conrad Howell will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ethel Williams; husband, William M. Gober; daughter-in-law, Regina Gober; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Sherer and husband, Tommy, of Jasper; son, Don Gober of Oxford; grandchildren, Sondra Purdes and husband, Brian, Chris Sherer and wife, Laura, Nathan Gober and Melissa Gober; great-granddaughter, Amy Purdes; brother, Dwight Williams of Jasper; and much loved nieces and nephews.
