William Burnett, of Anderson, S.C., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at his residence.

Born in Greenwood, S.C. he was the son of the late Bill and Lucille Owens Burnett. He was a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force and was a fighter pilot. He served during World War II, Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of Maryland.

Surviving are his wife, Edith West Burnett of Anderson, S.C.; daughter, Beth Treaster and husband, Fred, of Honea Path; two grandchildren, Brian and Brandon Fulmer; and sister, Iris Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery conducted by Dr. Fred Treaster. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Interim Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Ct., Duncan, S.C. 29334.
