Lynne A. "Mickey" McCracken of Orlando, Fla., daughter of Betty A. McCracken and Donald W. McCracken of Venice, Fla., became the bride of Dr. Donald W. Lackey of Venice, Fla., on Dec. 12, 2012. He is the son of Donald C. Lackey and the late Janet Lackey of Jasper.
The ceremony was performed at the Sarasota Garden Club in Sarasota, Fla. The maid of honor was Carol A. McCracken of Nokomis, Fla., sister of the bride.
The best man was Donald C. Lackey of Jasper, father of the groom. The bride is a graduate of the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, where she received her bachelor of arts in film and video production.
The groom is a graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., and Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta, Ga.
Randy and Tammy McCain of Jasper are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Matthew Randall McCain, to Anna Buffet Poteet, the daughter of Jeff and Karen Liles of Birmingham and Steve and Rhae Nell Poteet of Knoxville, Tenn.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Nira McCain and the late A.J. McCain Jr. of Jasper, Faye Lockhart and the late Chestley Lockhart of Jasper.
Mr. McCain graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a degree in civil engineering. He is pursuing a computer science degree.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Robert and Nancy Henry of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jim and the late Jemmie Hawk of Birmingham.
Miss Poteet has a bachelor’s degree in English and her master’s degree in education. She is currently employed at Marbory Middle School in Prattville.
The wedding will be held on March 23, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Donnally House in Birmingham.
