Westerman-Mehan

Dorsey Elizabeth Westerman of Jasper and Robert Shane Mehan of McDonough, Ga., were united in marriage at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Chapel of St. Francis at Camp McDowell in Nauvoo. The Rev. Monna Mayhall officiated at the evening ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jan Hendrick Westerman of Jasper.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chester Huffman of McDoniugh, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Henry Mehan of Moreland, Ga.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Dr. Jan Westerman, in the double-ring ceremony. She wore an Ivory silk and lace beaded gown with chapel train. She wore a mantic veil of Brussels lace. Her bouquet was calla lillies and lady slipper orchids. Maids of Honor were Miss Mary Kelsey Westerman, sister of the bride from Jasper, and Miss Mary Stewart DeLong, cousin of the bride, from Atlanta, Ga. The bride’s attendants were Mrs. Meredith Gable Fleming of Cumming, Ga., Miss Sarah Marie Hanson of Mobile, Miss Emily Lane Hogan of Sylvan Springs, Mrs. Christina Isbell Jordan of Atlanta, Ga., Miss Amie Adelia Vague of Jasper and Miss Rebecca Kathleen Williams of Atlanta, Ga.

The groom’s father, Patrick Henry Mehan, served as best man. Groomsmen were William Kyle Hadley of Atlanta, Ga., Frederick Chester Huffman of McDonough, Ga., Leland Lester Maddox of Stockbridge, Ga., Christopher Kyle Tompkins of Birmingham, Brett Harrison Veasey of Sharpsburg, Ga., Kurtis Edward Wages of Hampton, Ga., Jan Hendrik Westerman Jr. of Jasper and Dustin Laney White of Smyrna, Ga.

Ushers were Martin Anderson Barber of Jasper, Harrison McCallister DeLong, cousin of the bride, of Atlanta, Ga., Garrett William Huff of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Ernest Trey Lambert III of Pooler, Ga.

Candlelighters were William Middleton Daugette of Smyrna, Ga., Thomas Michael Goldsmith Jr. of Sewanne, Tenn., and Luke Cotten Sartain of Pelham.

The flower girl was Martha Pruit DeLong, cousin of the bride, of Atlanta, Ga. Ringbearer was Geoffrey Simpson DeLong, cousin of the bride, of Atlanta.

The rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Chester Huffman and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Henry Mehan.

The reception was held at Camp McDowell in Nauvoo. After a honeymoon trip to Naples, Fla., the couple is at home in Vinings, Ga.

Engagements



Cervantes-Kilgore

Mrs. Debi Thompson and Mr. Tom Thompson of Jasper are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Maria Cervantes, to Joshua Thomas Kilgore, the son of Mrs. Tammy Marie and Mr. John Thomas Kilgore of Jasper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Enelda Maria Cervantes and the late Mr. Roberto Evereto Cervantes of Southgate, Mich., and the late Mrs. Elaine Brumfield and the late Edgar Lee Brumfield of Wyandotte, Mich.

She is a graduate of Curry High School and attended Wallace State Community College for applied science. She is currently employed with TMX Finance.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Francis Kilgore and the late Mr. Junior Kilgore of Jasper, and Mrs. Shirley Clutter and Mr. John Clutter of Jasper.

He is a graduate of Sumiton Christian High School. He is currently employed with Kilgore Logging.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Huckleberry Farms in Jasper.
