Shelbie Z., who gained popularity as a contestant on the hit NBC singing competition “The Voice,” is in the final stages of filming the video for her single “Walker County Way,” which was released earlier this year.

Filming for a concert scene for the video will be held Saturday at The Home Depot in Jasper, and Shelbie Z. is looking for some help.

From 5 until 9 p.m. Saturday, she is hosting what she calls “Walker County’s Biggest Summer Block Party” for her fans and anyone who wants to be part of the video when filming begins around 7 p.m.

There will be plenty of activities available during the block party, including vendor booths, plenty of good food, entertainment and activities for kids.

“There’s going to be all kinds of things going on,” said Shelbie Z.’s mom, Kelly James.

Shelbie Z. said she’s hoping for a large turnout to help her with filming the final scenes for the video.

“I want to get the whole entire community involved,” Shelbie Z. said this week. “It’s going to be lots of fun. I think the more people we get involved, the better the video is going to be.”

“Walker County Way,” which was released in December 2013, has already reached the top of the charts in Brazil, she said.

Filming for the video began in May.

“At first, I thought it could be done in three days,” Shelby Z. said. “It’s now going on three months. It’s very stressful, but I’ve enjoyed it and I know in the end it’s going to be worth it.”

The video is set to be released Aug. 16, she said, and plans are to have a video release party in downtown Jasper on that date.

“Walker County Way” is currently available on iTunes.

“So far, the song has gotten a really good response,” Shelbie Z. said. “People can kind of relate to it. I think everybody can kind of see themselves in it. It’s about who we are as people, our Southern values and our Southern traditions.”
