Members of the Walker High School marching band and choral group are traveling to Florida this week to perform at Universal Orlando Resort.

Band director Curtis Burttram said 130 students are scheduled to make the trip.

The band will be partcipating in a parade through the streets of Universal Studios on Friday morning, and the choir will perform at the Universal CityWalk entertainment complex Saturday afternoon.

“It’s fun to get to perform for people from all over the world because it’s a world-class attraction, and we’re proud to be able to represent Walker High School and Jasper,” Burttram said.

Burttram added that the trip is also a rare opportunity for students in the band and choir to travel together and show their support for each other.

The appearance is part of Universal’s Stars Performance Program.

Students will also be visiting Universal Orlando’s Wet ‘n Wild waterpark while in Florida.
