She was a great lover of cats and dogs. She had several for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Jasper. She was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on Aug. 14, 1931, to Sherman and Eva Light. She graduated from Fyffe High School in 1949. She then went to Nursing School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she later graduated.
She worked at the Chattanooga Hospital, where she then met and later married, Richard Presslor. They had one son, Richard Presslor Jr. She also worked at hospitals in Ft. Payne; Dallas, Texas; Birmingham; and was the Director of Nursing at Ridgeview Health Services in Jasper for several years. After she retired, she moved to Florida for a few years and then returned to Jasper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Eva Light; her husband, Richard; her son, Richie; and her sister, Jackie Hamner.
She is survived by her only brother, Bud Light and wife Virginia of Morris; niece, Gail Vaughan of Odenville; grand-nephew, Jay Vaughan of Tuscaloosa; niece, Jeannie Pugh of Dallas, Texas; and nephew, Mike Montgomery of Indiana.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Jasper at 2 p.m. Brother Tim Murphy officiated.
