Ronald E. Pearson, 73, of Carbon Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his residence. He had retired after 35 years of service with Norfolk-Southern Railroad. He loved fishing, hunting and gardening.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Pisgah Cemetery in Carbon Hill. The Rev. Joey Vick and the Rev. Scott McCullar will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Virginia Pearson; and sister, Sylvia Pearson.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Pearson of Carbon Hill; children, Ginger Pearson Nichol of Carbon Hill and Steven Ronald Pearson of Carbon Hill; grandchildren, Amber Pearson, Whitney Pearson and Brian K. Hamilton; one great-grandson, Kolby Skylar Akins; uncle, Fred Leith (Lois) of Jasper; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Danny Clements, Timothy McGough, Robert McDonald, Jerry Palmer, Roger Ritter and Scott Guthrie.
