For the third year in a row, Zumba instructors throughout the area are teaming up on a Party in Pink Zumbathon for breast cancer awareness.

The two-hour event will be held Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Glen Clem Gymnasium on the Jasper campus of Bevill State Community College.

“We actually thought we weren’t going to be able to have the event this year, but past participants kept calling and asking when it would be, and I couldn’t let them down. Every year we add instructors and every year more of them step up to help with these preparations,” said Sharon Hogg, host of the event.

The Zumbathon is sponsored by the BSCC Student Government Association.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. Donations are also accepted.

Instructors from Athletic Arts Center, Fitness Factory, Gigi’s Dance Unlimited, Inspire Fitness, New Life, Solid Image, Target Fitness and Ultimate Fitness are expected to participate.

“It’s awesome to be able to have a large class with all the instructors and their participants. Each instructor has her/his own style, and there will definitely be something for everyone this year,” Hogg said.
