When Parrish hosts Carbon Hill tonight, the game will match a pair of ranked teams.

Both the Tornadoes and Bulldogs made the top 10 in their respective classifications in this week's Alabama Sports Writers Association poll released on Wednesday.

The undefeated Tornadoes (16-0) hold down the No. 4 spot in Class 1A. Parrish moved up one position since the last poll — released in mid-December. The Tornadoes rallied from a 13-point deficit to defeat Marion County 62-57 on Tuesday night.

Carbon Hill (12-6) is at No. 7 in Class 4A. The Bulldogs have won their last three games by a total of 114 points, beating Marion County (65-29), Oak Grove (71-41) and Oak Grove (74-26).

The Bulldogs were unranked in the last poll.

Parrish won its first meeting over Carbon Hill, 37-36 on the road.

The Lynn girls made a huge jump in Class 1A, going from unranked to No. 4.

Lynn (15-1) has won six games in a row since losing to Class 4A Good Hope.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the Bears are 70-5. Lynn lost to Gardendale and R.A. Hubbard two years ago and Holy Spirit and R.A. Hubbard last season.

Carbon Hill's girls (14-5) are among other teams nominated in Class 4A and the Sumiton Christian boys (15-3) are listed in other teams nominated in Class 1A.
