HANCEVILLE – The No. 4-ranked Lynn Bears (30-1) are back in a familiar place – the Class 1A, Northwest Region Tournament championship game — thanks to a 52-26 victory over the Shoals Christian Flame on Wednesday at Wallace State’s Drake Coliseum in Hanceville.

The Bears’ Lindsey Thompkin led the team with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Jackee Dodd had a double-double performance with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Reagan Tittle contributed with 8 points.

The Bears took a four-point lead in the first period, 12-8, with Tittle scoring six points to lead the team.

Shoals Christian held a 6-5 scoring edge in the second period, though Lynn retained the lead at halftime, 17-14.

The Bears clicked on offense and defense in the third period, mounting a 17-3 scoring run for the 34-17 advantage.

Lynn continued to roll in the fourth period, winning the scoring battle 18-9 for the 52-26 final.

The Bears will play in the championship final against the R.A. Hubbard Chiefs (19-5), who beat the Falkville 61-51 in the region opener. The match-up will be the fourth region tournament meeting between the teams. R.A. Hubbard has knocked Lynn out of the regional tournament each of the last three years.
