Linville Ollie Chambers of Cordova (Argo community), passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at the age of 84. He was born June 5, 1929. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, and a retired U.S. Army officer.

The family received friends on Monday, June 17, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel with burial at Sardis Cemetery on the River Road. Rev. Joe Tully will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

Chambers was preceded in death by his parents, Keilous and Bertha Chambers; brothers, Aaron Chambers and Arthur Chambers; and sisters, Mary Handley, Florence Roberts and Helen Watson.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Kelley Chambers; sons, Richard Chambers (Kim) and Barry Chambers (Connie); daughters, Linda Wakefield and Angela Black (Steven); granddaughters, April Allen, Natalie McElwee, Christina Morton, Allison Chambers, and Katie Chambers; grandsons, Jeremy Allen and Colin Chambers; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Allen, Colin Chambers, Steven Black, Ronald Handley, Jonathan McElwee and Jeremy Morton.
