Joseph Allen Sartain, 78, of Decatur, passed away on Feb. 17, 2013, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 17, 1934, in Providence, to Steve and Virginia Sartain. Mr. Sartain owned and operated Joe Sartain Ford from 1974 until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Sartain was past chairman of the Ford Advertising Board, past board member of Burningtree Country Club, and was an avid golfer and War Eagle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J. M. Sartain; and sisters, Mary Jane Crane and Louise Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sybil; son, Allen Sartain (Carol) of Decatur; daughters, Leigh Ann Hurst (Preston) of Decatur and Beth Stanley (Steve) of Franklin, Tenn.; stepson, Michael Blasius (Brigid) of Charlotte, N.C.; stepdaughter, Kimberly Wilson (Robbie) of Oakman.; brothers, Jack Sartain (Harriett) of Bartlett, Ill. and Jerry Sartain (Sharon) of Auburn; sisters, Ruby Northcutt (Royce) of Savannah, Ga. and Bobbie O’Kelley of Roswell, Ga.; six grandchildren; and Glenda Sartain, mother of his children of Decatur.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Please join the family on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Burningtree Country Club for a Celebration of Life Service.

Pallbearers will be Tom Flowe, Nicky Nixon, Greg Rich, Dick Hardy, Larry Anderson, Carl Webb and Tom Buckle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
