Jan Franklin Sartain, 73, of Geneva, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva. Minister Douglas Williams officiated. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Sartain was born Jan. 4, 1941 in Corinth, Miss. to the late Robert Franklin and Rita McCullar Sartain. He loved music and was a band director in the state of Alabama for 25 years and later worked at Reliable Metal Products. He was a member of the Geneva Church of Christ and was the director of the Bible correspondence course. He was a very loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sartain of Geneva; son, Jason Sartain (Heather) of Killeen, Texas; daughter, Rachel Nowling of Geneva; grandchildren, Camryn and Dylan Nowling, Jackson Stevens and Ashton Sartain; and other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society or the American Red Cross.
