He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Willie Mae Nicholson; and six brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Annette Nicholson; daughter, Melinda Hardin; son, James Alan (Lisa) Nicholson; grandchildren, Jennifer Hardin (Daniel Emberg), Christopher Hardin, James Benjamin (Rebecca Lynn Dobbins) Hardin, Skylar Nicholson and Duncan Nicholson; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Ray Nicholson and Jimmy (Glenda) Nicholson; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Forestdale Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 10, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pocahontas Cemetery in Carbon Hill. Bro. Jack Rollins will preside.
