Jasper police are searching for a man believed to have robbed a female clerk at a local hotel at gunpoint late Monday evening.

Jasper Police Det. Leo Harvill said JPD received a call around 8:45 Monday night about an armed robbery at the Days Inn behind Taco Bell in Jasper.

“When the patrol officers arrived on the scene, the clerk said a white male had entered the business, pointed a gun at her, and demanded money from the cash drawer,” Harvill said. “The robbery suspect then struck the clerk in the face before fleeing the scene on foot. Thankfully, the clerk was not seriously injured during the incident.”

Harvill said Jasper police are looking for any information that could lead them to an arrest in the case. The suspect was reportedly a slim-built, white male who was wearing a red hooded jacket and a black ski mask pulled down over his face.

“That’s all the description we have at this point. We’re hoping maybe someone saw someone fitting this description hurrying from the scene,” Harvill said.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact Harvill at 205-221-6790 or 205-221-8135.
