ROANOKE — Dora’s Ki’Juana Babbs was unstoppable Friday night.
The Dora running back tore apart Handley’s defense with 328 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped a 56-28 game to the Tigers.
Handley outscored Dora 28-0 in the final quarter, picking off three passes and returning two for touchdowns.
The teams piled up 880 yards of offense on the night with Dora outgaining Handley 467-413. The Bulldogs were done in by four interceptions.
Dora passed for 129 yards in the game and rushed for another 338.
Babbs had touchdown runs of 57, 7 and 91 yards. Quarterback Steven Gosha added an eight-yard touchdown.
Dora (5-5) trailed 28-21 at the half. The Bulldogs pulled even going into the fourth quarter before Handley’s big finish.
Dora plays at No. 2 Charles Henderson in the first round of the playoffs next week.
Handley (5-5) will open the playoff at defending state champion UMS-Wright next week.
