Grand jury rules 2 men violated sex offender law

Editor’s Note: This is the second of a three-part series that will include the indictments issued by a Walker County Grand Jury on Nov. 19, 2013. All those listed here are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law.

A Walker County Grand Jury issued indictments for two men who allegedly violated the sex offender notification act by failing to alert authorities when they moved or failing to register as a sex offender as required after convictions for certain sex crimes.

Steven Gregory Smith, 35, of Sumiton, is charged with a violation of the Community Notification Act. He was arrested in October 2010 for the alleged violation.

Jonathan Tate Havard, 20, of Winfield, was also charged with violating the Community Notifications Act. He was arrested in October 2012.

The grand jury also indicted Candice Shalane Lively of Sayre for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and kidnapping for a July 2013 incident in which Lively and Cedrick Dramane Harris allegedly beat Leonard Curtis King in the face and head with the wooden stock of a shotgun illegally entered his residence and robbed him of approximately $200 cash and a .32 caliber handgun. Harris was indicted separately by the same November Grand Jury.

Also indicted:

•Christopher Shane Henderson, 41, of Parrish, for being in possession of a pistol while being prohibited from owning a firearm. The case stems from a June 2012 arrest.

•Eddie Blake Herald, 25, of Jasper, for second-degree domestic violence that resulted in a February 2013 arrest.

•John Andrew Holden, 20, of Dora, for third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. The arrest was made in July 2012.

•Anthony Glen Hunt Jr., 30, of Carbon Hill, for harassing communication stemming from a January 2013 arrest. On a separate indictment, Hunt was also charged with first-degree theft of property in a June 2012 arrest.

•Christopher Allen Hunter, 36, of Jasper, for first-degree theft of property. The original arrest occurred in April 2013.

•Darrion M. Hunter, 30, of Oakman, for second-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. The case originated with an arrest in January 2013.

•Johnny Richard Hunter, 23, of Jasper, for third-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. Hunter was originally arrested on the charges in June 2010.

•Paul Joseph Hyche, 49, of Jasper, for possession or receipt of controlled substance. The arrest was made in October 2012.

•Brittany Nicole Hyjek, 21, of Cullman, for obstruction of justice-giving false identification to law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested in March of 2013.

•Clarence Wayne Johnson, 56, of Carbon Hill, for possession or receipt of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested in December of 2011.

•Domonique Lashae Jones, 21, of Carbon Hill, for intimidating a witness. She was arrested in February of 2013.

•Zac Jurvus, 21, of Carbon Hill, for intimidating a witness. He was arrested in February of 2013.

•Sherry M. Key, 46, of Carbon Hill, for first-degree theft of property. She was arrested in May of 2013.

•Brady Andrew Kilpatrick, 20, of Parrish, second-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary. He was arrested in May 2013.

•Kathern Ann Lashum, 19, of Empire, for fraudulent use of a credit card and second-degree theft of property. She was arrested in April 2013.

•Jamie David Lawson, 57, of Carbon Hill, for second-degree assault and resisting arrest stemming from an arrest in May of 2013.

•Anthony Berton Lanier, 56, of Carbon Hill, for possession or receipt of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The original arrest was in December 2011.

•Shenecca Denise Loyd, 38, of York, for first-degree robbery. She was arrested in January 2011.

•Termon Lomount McCauley, 19, of Jasper, for second-degree theft of property and breaking and entering a vehicle. The original arrest was in June 2013.

•Joseph Mark Miles, 33, of Sulligent, for possession or receipt of controlled substance. The original arrest was in February 2012.

•Helena Marlene Morris, 27, of Jasper, for breaking and entering a vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar’s tools stemming from an arrest in March 2013.

•Noah James Nelson, 53, of Hayneville, for first-degree theft by deception. He was arrested in February 2013.

•Courtney Smith Nichols, 29, of Dora, for possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested in August of 2011.

•Gregory Thomas Parr, 41, of Dora, for second-degree assault stemming from an arrest in February of 2013.

•Joshua Jamal Payne, 21, of Jasper, for second-degree theft of property. He was arrested in May 2013.

•Matthew Joseph Pelt, 31, of Haleyville, for first-degree theft of property. He was arrested in April 2013.

•Krista Danielle Perry, 35, of Carbon Hill, for possession or receipt of a controlled substance. She was arrested in November of 2011.

•Larry Glenn Pike, 36, of Parrish, for first-degree theft of property stemming from a July 2011 arrest.

•Gregory Dewayne Pugh, 21, of Carbon Hill, for first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary. He was arrested in January 2013.

•Larry Wayne Roberts, 36, of Empire, for third-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and third-degree assault. He was arrested in July 2013.

•Austin Randall Robinson, 20, of Jasper, for two counts of first-degree theft of property. He was arrested in March of 2013.

•James Ray Roeder Jr., 21, of Jasper, for second-degree theft of property stemming from a May 2012 arrest.

•Vickey Massey Rowe, 42, of Double Springs, for possession or receipt of controlled substance for an arrest in March of 2012.

•Amber Monique Scheile, 34, of Jasper, for three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and one count of illegal possession of a credit card. She was arrested in March 2013.

•Nathan Brandon Shaneyfelt, 32, of Albertville, for obstruction of justice. He was arrested in August 2013.
