George Arnold Newman, 76, of Parrish, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his residence. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor prior to services. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Patton Hill Cemetery in Townley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Newman; daughter, Bonnie Ellen Newman; parents, Willie and Luct Newman; brother, Floyd Newman; sister, Louise Patton Daniels; brother, Presley Newman; grandson, Emanuel Tyler; and great-grandson, Chip.

He is survived by his daughters, Georgie Lay (Steve Cook) of Birmingham, Geanetta Tyler, Patricia Vaughn (Tim) and Marilyn Livingston (Ray); sister, Adean Morris of Jasper; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Livingston, Steven Cook, Joey Rogers, Todd DeStafino, Jeremy McGuff and Jesse Williams.
