Floyd “Bill” Busby, 81, of Jasper, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Visitation will be today, March 22, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 23, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in the Shanghi Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Holt and Bro. David Miller will officiate.

Busby faithfully served his church as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, song leader, treasurer and also in a radio and nursing home ministry. For many years, he sang with the gospel group “Family Circle.” He retired from Drummond Coal Company in 1991. He was a loving husband, father and friend, and he will be greatly missed.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Millard and Willie Mae Busby; sisters, Vera Goodwin and Bo Henderson; and brothers, Johnnie B. Busby and Donnie Busby.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leona Freeman Busby; daughters, Debra Wilson and her husband, Darryle, of Jasper, and Rhonda Chambers and her husband, Kevin, of Northport; sons, Ronnie Busby and his wife, Sonya, of Gardendale, and Floyd Busby and his wife, Lisa, of Quinton; sisters, Elsie Savage and Nelda Howard and her husband, Buddy; brothers, Junior Busby and his wife, Barbara, Hoppy Busby and his wife, Janice, and William Busby and his wife, Sandy; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
