 Robert and Jan Tyree proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Melissa Tyree, to Joshua Leon Roberts, son of Mardie and Denise Roberts of Grove Oak.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Peggy Brantley and the late Jordan “Jurd” Brantley of Farmerville, La. She is also the granddaughter of the late Alvin and Myrtle Tyree of Jasper.

Kelly is a 1998 graduate of Walker High School and received her bachelor of science degree in elementary and middle school education with honors (magna cum laude) in 2003 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She is currently employed by the Walker County Board of Education at Valley Junior High, where she has taught for 10 years.

Josh is the grandson of Peggy LaMunyon and the late Marcus LaMunyon of Grove Oak Grove, Ala. He is also the grandson of Moselle Roberts and the late Leon Roberts of Fort Payne, Ala.

Josh is a 1999 graduate of Fyffe High School and a 2004 graduate of Auburn University where he received his bachelor of science degree in forestry.

He is currently employed as the vegetation management supervisor for Riviera Utilities in Foley, Ala.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at The Sonnet House in Leeds, Ala.
