Doyle Pearson, 69, of Jasper, with complete trust in his Savior and Lord Jesus and surrounded by family, entered into eternity peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Doyle was married to his beautiful wife of 43 years, Carol Jean Pearson, had a wonderful daughter and son-in-law, Lana Carol and Michael Dennis, and two incredible grandchildren, Bradley Michael Dennis and Eva Mae Dennis. He loved his dear brothers and sisters, Eloise Wiesner, Louie and Glenda Pearson, Terry and Karen Pearson, Ronnie Pearson, Gail Pearson and Carol Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Lee Pearson; mother, Eva Mae Henderson Pearson; and his stepmother, Geneva Brown Pearson.

Doyle worked for the Coca Cola Company for 30 years, loved carpentry, enjoyed Sacred Harp singing and Southern Gospel music, and was always a smiling and encouraging person. He was a member of the Jasper First Church of the Nazarene, former president of Lion’s Club and a beloved supporter of education in Walker County. He was a Purple Heart Vietnam veteran and received the U.S. Army Medal of Valor.

Visitation with the family will be held at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home today, June 13, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Jasper on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Double Springs. The Rev. Greg Story will officiate.
