A dumpster has once again been placed at the Armory on Sharon Boulevard to hold any trash or larger household items that the city doesn’t normally pick up.
“We want people to be able to clean up in their yards or around their houses to help beautify the city,” Mayor Randy Stephens said.
The dumpster was heavily used last year, so the city decided to offer the service again this year.
“The landfill is only open certain hours, so this allows them to clean up after it’s closed and still be able to get rid of the items,” Stephens said. “The dumpster is available 24/7, and can be used for any items that will fit in it as long as they aren’t toxic.”
The dumpster is already in place and will remain for two weeks and can be used for old furniture or anything else that is not a hazard. Although no date is set for a city-wide clean up, residents are encouraged to take pride in their city and clear debris from their yards, businesses and other nearby areas.
