Donna “Kay” Ward, 62, of Double Springs, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2013, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of the Double Springs/Haleyville area. She was a beloved wife, mother, mimi and friend. She was a longtime business owner in Haleyville. She was a member of Double Springs First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Travis ‘Short’ Hagan; and grandmother, Verta Camp.

She is survived by her husband, best friend and soul mate, Jimmy Ward; children, Chris Ward, Jonathan Ward and wife, Kelley, and Jennifer Windham and husband, Cody; mother, Oneita Hagan; sister, Marla Snider; grandchildren, Braden Ward and Rylan Windham; and a host of friends, family and her many honorary children who lovingly referred to her as Mama Kay.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, April 2, 2013, at Pinkhard Funeral Home in Haleyville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Pinkhard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Bro. Phillip Twilley will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Steve Rowland, Ronald Webb, Jerry Lester, Josh Robinson, Tim Gilbreath and Todd Gilbreath.
