The Daily Mountain Eagle and Handy TV are partnering this month to give one lucky subscriber a brand new big screen television, just in time for the Super Bowl.

To receive an entry in the month-end drawing, just subscribe for a minimum of three months to the Daily Mountain Eagle by noon Friday, Jan. 31. Only new subscribers are eligible for the drawing.

“This is a great way to kick off our monthly ‘New Subscriber’ giveaways for 2014,” said Publisher Jack McNeely. “And since the Super Bowl is Sunday, Feb. 2, it made sense for us to partner with our friends at Handy TV.”

And this is not your ordinary big screen TV. Randy Glenn, manager at the Jasper Handy TV location on Highway 78 East, is sponsoring a mammoth 55-inch LG LED Smart TV valued at $1,264.

Promotional material including a subscription form is publishing daily through the end of the month (see page B3 today). New subscribers may also earn additional entries into the drawing for 6- and 12-month subscriptions, McNeely noted.

Subscription rates are: $31.50 for three months, $63 for six months and $126 for a year.

All home-delivery subscriptions must be pre-paid and are non-refundable to be eligible for the drawing.

In addition, new subscribers this month can earn additional months when they subscribe. Subscribe for three months and get one month free, buy six months and get two months free or sign up for 12 months and receive four additional months at no cost.

“There is no better time to subscribe to your hometown newspaper,” McNeely said. “The monthly giveaways are our way of ringing in a new year and welcoming you to our readership family.”

Meanwhile, McNeely encourages folks to keep an eye out for different monthly giveaways for new subscribers during 2014. “One month we may team up with a local grocery store to give away a shopping spree. Another month we may team up with a local bank to give away a valuable gift card,” he said. “Just keep reading.”
