Charles Newman Barker, 79, of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born on July 13, 1933. He was the owner of Creative Aluminum Products Co., Inc.

The family will receive friends today, March 7, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be today, March 7, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Levi Sides and David Barker will officiate, Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Inez Barker; son, Charles Newman Barker Jr.; brothers, J.W. Barker and Harold Barker; sisters-in-law, Inez Barker and Eugenia Barker.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Barker; sons, Scott Barker (Kim) and Jeff Barker (Rachel); grandchildren, Sharae Miller (Matt), Meci Dunn (Cory), Emily Cooner (Matt) and Caleb Cooksey; great-grandchildren, Ethan Cooner, MaggieAnn Dunn and Bentley Miller; sisters, Faye Ganey (Earl) and Marie Veal (Jimmy); and brother, Jimmy Barker (Judy).

Pallbearers will be Matt Miller, Cory Dunn, Caleb Cooksey, Larry Norris, Brad Barker and Timmy Myers.
