The Robotics Experience program will include four days of action-packed learning focused on exposing students to engineering and technology career options. Program activities will include construction of a small robot, activities in the Drafting Design Engineering Technology and Electrical Systems Technology programs, a robot competition and a tour of an Alabama automotive plant featuring the newest advances in robotics technology.
There is no cost to participate in the camp due to grant funds received from the Walker Area Community Foundation, CARCAM, and the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County. Applicants must be in 6th through 12th grade and should be recommended by a counselor, math or science teacher.
Based on the applications received by Bevill State, a maximum of 30 students will be selected to participate. Application deadline is June 14, 2013. The camp will be in session July 29-Aug. 1 for students in grades 9-12 and Aug. 5-8 for students in grades 6 through 8.
