Chambless was born on Feb. 16, 1936. Betty loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and tending to her flowers.
Visitation was held Monday, May 20, 2013, at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be today, May 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lynn City Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Whitten will officiate.
Betty is survived by her children, Chuck (Jennifer) Chambless, Tommy (Gina) Chambless and Jackie Chambless; grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Chambless, Cody Chambless, Taylor Chambless, Keylan Morgan, Kayla Morgan, Luke Chambless and Seth Cheatham; great-grandchildren, Kruz Cheatham and Kannon Cheatham; brother, Ray (Barbara) Rickles; and nieces and nephews, Linda (Charlie) Chilcoat, Mike (JoAnn) Henson, Darren (Denise) Hall, Steve (Carrie) Hall, Chris Rickles, Michelle (Chuck) Wright, Allyson Folmor, and Gena (Wayne) Wilkes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Chambless; daughter, Tammy Kay Chambless and infant son; parents, Charlie and Myrtle Rickles; siblings, Mary Sue Rickles Hall and Burnell Rickles Henson; and one infant brother and sister.
