It saddens me to see that Cordova High School will soon be coming down. So many generations have walked the halls. So I don’t understand why in 2008 when the it was closed that it was not cleaned out. I’m sure that there would have been a lot of people that would have liked a “souvenir” from our school or even made a donation to the new school or even the city, just to have a small piece of the school building.
In a recent Daily Mountain Eagle article about the demolition of the school, Jason Adkins referred to the school building as an “eye-sore and a liability.” When I look at the school built in 1940, I see memories of my life and all the people that came before me and after me. I refer back to those “memories” quite often in my life, and I wish the best to the town as they move forward and rebuild. So to my alumni I say………CORDOVA HIGH TO THEE WE SING OUR PRAISES. GO BIG BLUE and…. ONCE A BLUE DEVIL ALWAYS A BLUE DEVIL !!!!
