Tractor Supply Co. in Jasper will help you find the perfect pet during an adoption event planned for Saturday to help the Walker County Animal Shelter.
The event, which is part of the company’s annual Pet Appreciation Week, will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the business located on U.S. 78.
During the event, workers from the Walker County Animal Shelter will be on-site with several dogs available for adoption. Tractor Supply Co. will also be giving away $30 pet kits for anyone who adopts an animal for the animal shelter.
Those attending Saturday’s event will also be entered into a nationwide drawing for a $25,000 Great Gift Card Giveaway provided by Tractor Supply Co.
Kara Ford, a volunteer at the Walker County Animal Shelter, said the facility is currently at capacity with the number of animals it can handle. “That’s why events like this are so important, to adopt as many animals out as possible,” she said.
Anyone not wanting to adopt an animal from the shelter but who would like to help can donate items to the shelter, including dog and cat food, kitten and puppy chow, and other pet-related items.
The Walker County Animal Shelter is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays.
