Dora Police Chief John Duchock said items taken included firearms, electronics and jewelry.
The 17-year-olds, whose names have not been released because of their age, were in possession of numerous items related to the burglaries when police executed their search warrant Thursday night. Each juvenile is charged with 13 counts of unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, one count of first-degree theft of property, two counts of second-degree theft of property of guns, seven counts of third-degree theft of property and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. One juvenile was from Dora, the other from Pinson.
Many items were recovered during the search and a vehicle was recovered from the woods nearby. All the items stolen were taken from unlocked vehicles, and the stolen vehicle had the keys in it.
Duchock urged residents to be vigilant, remove their keys from their vehicles and lock their doors.
In an unrelated case, Dora police are also looking for a white Mitsubishi delivery truck that was stolen from a residence on Hyche Road Monday night.
The truck was loaded with outdoor inflatables that police believe the thieves may attempt to sell.
Duchock said the department had a suspect on that case, but urged anyone with information to contact Dora police immediately at (205) 648-9110.
