Hundreds of people attended Arley Day on Saturday. The event featured a 5K and fun run, pancake breakfast, a parade and car show, among other activities. Dozens of vendors sold arts and crafts items and served food as well. The Arley Women's Club hosts the event each year, and proceeds are used to support a number of community efforts.

Jasper Junior High School seventh and eighth graders participated in a STEM "Shark Tank"-type competition Friday, where teams demonstrated and explained carnival games they created to judges from the business industry. The students were showing what they had learned about mathematical probabilities and other skills. Daily Mountain Eagle Managing Editor Ron Harris participated as one of the judges, who asked questions and tried out some of the games.
