The Walker County Firefighters Association is currently selling tickets on a drawing for this beautiful T-shirt quilt, which features the logos of all 27 fire departments in Walker County. The tickets are $2 each and the quilt will be given away during the WCFA meeting being held on Tuesday, July 10. You do not have to be present to win. All proceeds from the giveaway will go the WCFA to help fund training for all the fire departments in Walker County. Bevill State Community College Dean of Instruction Dr. Leslie Hartley and drafting instructor Matt Bradshaw, second and third from left, respectively, are presented a $500 check from Billy Doss and Britton Lightsey of Alabama Power. The funds are in support of the college's entry into the 2018 NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. Students who are working on the project are pictured as well, and they will compete in the challenge this weekend in Huntsville.
